Features list provided by Synqit compared with Skype built-in Contacts Import

Synqit does not compete with the Skype built-in Contacts Import, but provides additional functionality for advanced users who want to maintain Skype contacts synchronized with their address books. The following table describes additional functionality provided by Synqit.

Import multiple phone numbers per contact Maximum three phone numbers are imported into a single Skype contact. All phone numbers are imported. Fax numbers can be skipped. Each number is imported as single contact, for example:

Support of different phone number types, such as Home, Work, Mobile; etc. All numbers are imported as Other type. Phone number type is imported in parenthesis, for example, ContactName (Mobile).
Import of numbers in non-international format Skype import skips numbers in non-internationally format. Phone numbers can be automatically converted from the local format to the international format required by Skype, read more ».
Import of company name if other contact names are empty Not supported. Supported.
Gmail™ contacts
Import contacts from a specified contact group Not supported. Supported.
Microsoft® Outlook® contacts
Phone number extension support Phone number extensions are imported as '9' instead of 'x'. Synqit provides possibility to cut off phone number extensions.
Import from different contacts folders Skype imports contacts only from Outlook Mailbox\Contacts folder. Synqit imports phone numbers from any Mailbox, Personal or Public Outlook folder, not only from Mailbox\Contacts folder.
Plaxo contacts
Import contacts from Plaxo into Skype. Not supported. Supported.
Mobile phone contacts
Import contacts from mobile phones into Skype. Not supported. Supported using an intermediate Synchronization (SyncML) server.
MemoToo address book
Import contacts from mobile phones into Skype. Not supported. Supported.
